Activities for Tweens in Singapore

With never-ending summer weather in Singapore, we’re always able to enjoy outdoor activities. I’ve spent the last few days researching fun things to do with tweens, so I thought I would share my list.

MegaAdventure – This is a big adventure park with a giant zip line, a climbing wall, an obstacle course and a Mega Jump.  The MegaZip zipline is 75 m high, 450 m long, and goes over the water to a small island. This is perfect for giving your little adrenaline junkies a place to burn off their energy. They also do team building, so it is great for groups of kids.

Skyline Luge – This is so much fun, your tween will love it. Your tween can get the thrill of the luge without the cold and ice. The luge carts have steering built in, and there is a purpose built track. The ride is much longer than I was expecting. It was so much fun we did it again, again and again. It is even open after dark for an even more challenging ride.

iFly – Ages 7 & up can enjoy this “skydiving” experience. Suit up and fly in the wind tunnel and feel true free-fall conditions. You’ll feel the wind and the drop and get a sense what it would be like to go on a real sky dive!

Splash @ Kidz Amaze – Is the weather not cooperating but the kids really want to go to a water park? Head down to Splash @ Kidz Amaze and enjoy the first indoor water park in Singapore. Not only is it 24,000 square feet inside, it is open late, until 9 pm on weekends, which makes it perfect for late sleeping tweens and teens.

Wave House Sentosa – Learn to surf without the sharks! With a 101 flow barrel wave and a splash pool, Wave House Sentosa provides hours of fun. There is a cafe on site, which serves plenty of options for everyone. Parents will enjoy their afternoon as well at the beautiful surf bar.

The Rink at JCube – Get your skates on and enjoy the refreshingly chilly winter wonderland created in the middle of JCube mall. The ice is pretty well-groomed, the facilities are clean, and the rink is much bigger than you’d expect to find in a mall. After the skating session ends, you can have lunch at one of the many restaurants in the mall and do some shopping, another favorite activity with tweens.

Adventure Cove Waterpark Your kids will love this water park and so will you! It is clean, and the rides are thrilling enough but not terrifying. It has a lazy river for when you need a rest on an intertube, and a snorkeling cove where you can swim with the fish and corals. The wave pool can be a bit intimidating for younger kids. My kids really loved the Spiral Splashout and the Dueling Racers. There are lockers for your things and showers, so when you have had enough water, you can head to one of the other attractions on Sentosa.

Bounce Trampoline Park – Tweens love this active trampoline park located on the 9th floor of Cathay Cineleisure Orchard. The music is loud, and the bouncing doesn’t stop. Sign up for one-hour sessions online to reserve your spot, and sign the waiver online. Then tuck your tween in a taxi and send them off to bounce heaven for the afternoon! If you’re keen to join them, there is a nice cafe to have a cappuccino while you wait inside.
